Audio-Visual Materials

audio refers to that which we can hear, and  




visual refers to that which we can see.


Therefore, an Audio-Visual materials refers to what we hear and or see in real situations.

Example of Audio- Visual materials are the following:

 a. Videotape is a recording of images and sounds onto magnetic tape as opposed to film stock used in filmmaking or random access digital media


b. Television is a telecommunication medium that is used for transmitting and receiving moving images and sound. 


c. Radio is the radiation (wireless transmission) of electromagnetic signals through the atmosphere or free space.



d. Gramophone or Record player, is a device introduced in 1877 for the recording and reproduction of sound recordings.



E.The original Walkman introduced a change in music listening habits by allowing people to carry music with them and listen to music through lightweight headphones.


f. Films also called a movie or motion picture, is a series of still images which, when shown on a screen, creates the illusion of moving images due to phi phenomenon.



g . CD's The format was originally developed to store and play back sound recordings only.
